Avoid update trigger from firing

Summary:
We have created a children object PortadosIn for Service Requests.
We populate this object using REST API calls that currently take around 2 seconds per call.
We discovered the BeforeUpdate trigger on Service Request is being fired and taking a lot of this 2 seconds to process.
Is there a way to avoid the BeforeUpdate trigger from firing?
