Stop journal postings of a specific company in GL and subledgers

Summary:

Is there a way to stop postings to GL and subledgers for a specific company that we no longer use?

I know we can close the ledger periods but this wont work as we have other companies still in use that require us to make postings to the same ledger. We just want to stop users from being able to post journals to a specific company.

Eg: Company A = OLD company we no longer want users to be able to post to

Company B = company currently in use

Both company A and B are assigned to Ledger1 so we cant close Ledger 1 periods.
