Creating a Job Set to filter

We are trying to run the "Generate Invoices" ESS job with a parameter for "Accounting Date". It is not a current capability to copy this job and add a parameter. However, we were wondering if it is a possibility to create a job set, make generate invoices be the second job, and have a first job that is able to have a parameter for accounting date. We believe this job set would be able to accomplish the same goal.
