My client is using line manager hierarchy as the primary hierarchy in their compensation plans but they raise a question on how we handle secondment. For example, Linda is seconded to Department B for 9 months in the calendar year and by the time the reward cycle starts, her secondment ends and she is back to Department A for the rest of the 3 months in the calendar year. Ideally, the compensation decision should be made by her manager in the secondment so how to make the system to assign her to the secondment manager instead of her manager in Department A (original department).
