Response to Salesforce's Announcement Regarding Disabling Creation of New Connect Apps
As we've been fielding customer queries, we would like to address an announcement sent by Salesforce that you may have received recently:
Email Subject Line: IMPORTANT: Salesforce Disabling the Creation of New Connected Apps in Spring ‘26
Background
Salesforce introduced the External Client App (ECA) framework to provide a more secure, scalable, and governance-friendly method for server-to-server and headless API integrations. ECA is designed to replace many use cases traditionally handled by Salesforce Connected Apps, particularly where no user context is required.
The Eloqua Salesforce Integration App has historically used the Connected App model, which remains fully supported and compliant today. In alignment with Salesforce’s platform direction, Oracle Eloqua plans to update the Eloqua Salesforce Integration App to support External Client Apps (ECA) prior to the Eloqua 26B release, ensuring continued compatibility with Salesforce’s evolving security and integration standards.
