Why payables recurring invoices are created in same period

Summary:

We are creating recurring invoices in payables module from Jan to April
Jan period is in open status, Feb period is in Future status

All invoices from Jan to April are created with same Jan-26 accounting date.
Understand invoice date is in different period, but accounting date is in same period Jan-26
Is there a way to create recurring invoices in payables across the period?
