We need to enable future segment as Intercompany Segment

We have been live for two years and we do not have an intercompany segment in our Chart of Accounts (COA) structure. However, there is a Future segment with a length of 4 characters, while the Company segment has a length of 2 characters. Our business requires enabling the Future segment as the Intercompany segment, as we plan to migrate another company from a third-party system to Oracle Fusion next year and expect to utilize the Intercompany module.

Could you please confirm whether it is possible to enable the Future segment as the Intercompany segment? Additionally, what is the recommended approach or steps to achieve these requirements?
