Best Practice for having 1 work order(Standard Object) have multiple IB assets associated (custom Object)

If "Custom object" is the child of Work Order Object ,we are facing limitation that only "SERVICE_APPS_ICS_ID" user can only add more than 1 asset..

If we create a parent "Custom Object" and have 1:M relationship with Work order , then the Create page of the "Custom Object" is only taking 1 IB asset which is already selected on the Work order (Custom DCL field is bringing value from Work order related object)

How can we tackle this situation as the ask here is 1 work order should have the ability to tag "multiple IB assets"
