How to change approval status for multiple entities?

Summary:

Hi!

We are creating new entities (both parent and child). With Actual scenario, synchronizing takes care of the approval statuses. But for some reason, Budget scenario works differently. With Budget, we would need to manually change statuses for all history periods. Calculation status is Impacted and Approval status is First Pass/Locked.

Any ideas how to change multiple statuses at the same time (not one by one)? I think I will first have to unlock parents, then lock children and then lock parents. I wanted to do this in SmartView but it does not work.

Does someone have experience on similar situation? Good ideas?
