Send CSV output in email in HCM Extract

Our requirement is to send an email a csv file to the vendor. When I modify the filename to include 'csv' the file is sent over as csv.txt'
When I change the file type to 'csv' it is delivering the default csv file without using our custom e-text template.
I have seen a couple of posts on this issue, but it didn't work for us.
Did anyone get this to work? Any pointers will be appreciated.
