Differences between lead time supplier from ASL and preprocessing lead time for buy item ?

Hi experts,

I wanted to make sure, we have lead time supplier but since the the buy item only have one supplier I thought we can maintain it at pre processing lead time in product hub since it's easier that way compare to upload ASL from FBDI.

I was wondering what's the differences since the the affected date will be Suggested due date.
