Public APIs vs OIC Approach for fetching data from Oracle || external website

in Order Management

Our Client has a website on which there is a requirement to display Item data —> Item price —> Accept the Order on the website —> Push the Order to Oracle.

For all these tasks, Oracle provides public API(s) which can be called directly from website. We would like to know the recommended approach?

is it better to call API(s) directly or expose the same API(s) through OIC?

Kindly suggest.
