What is the purpose of giving business object type under audit reports for product "Audit Policies"?

When I choose a product as 'Audit Policies' under Audit Reports and specific date range then i click on search after which it ended up showing as no data to display but when i choose business object type as "Oracle Fusion business objects and attributes" then it's working. What is the purpose of giving business object type and why it is behaving like this. Could you pls explain me more.
