Partial Reservation using Reserve Automatically button

Say we have Quantity 2 On Hand and Available to Reserve, while the Sales Order demand is 4. When clicking the "Reserve Automatically" button under Manage Reservations and Picks > Create Reservations, the system returns the error:
"A reservation wasn't created because the reservation quantity is more than the available-to-reserve quantity."

While there is a workaround to manually select the lot and enter the reserved quantity, is there a way to allow the system to automatically reserve the available on-hand quantity when clicking the "Reserve Automatically" button?
