Can I configure the 'Created By' and 'Opportunity Owner' Workspace filters for Opportunity object?

Summary:

We want to add and remove results (checkboxes) in 'Created By' and 'Opportunity Owner' Workspace filters. However, after searching for the user, once the user is unchecked the search result disappears. We want to configure the 'Created By' and 'Opportunity Owner' Workspace filters so that we are able to freely add and remove results and that these results no longer disappear when it is unchecked.
