track salary history by changing salary basis on same date

Hi Team,

We have a requirement where based on staffing key skill (a DFF field in assignment screen of Employee) we need to change the salary basis in change salary screen without changing the effective date of Salary to any other date and without changing the salary amount. Basically we need to track the salary basis band change via any specific action and reason but don't want to change the effecitve date of current salary ?

Is there a way we can track history of Salary basis change with the change happen to same day?
