How to "Run Grade Step Progression" for temporary inactive employees

The "Run Grade Step Progression" process excludes inactive assignments and limits lookback to 40 days. We have a business scenario where employees return to "Active" assignment status after a period of inactivity, but their actual eligibility date occurred more than 40 days in the past.

Since the system does not pick up these "stale" eligibility records during the standard run (no option to run Grade Step Progression process for inactive assignments), please advise on the configuration steps or workarounds required to ensure these employees are progressed automatically upon reactivation.

Basically, we are seeking a solution for processing Grade Step Progression for employees returning from an "Inactive" status whose eligibility date falls outside the maximum lookback window (more than 40 days).
