Automatically assign approver to next assignee in the approval hierarchy

Summary:

Requirement is to assign a PO / BPA approval to the next approver in the approval hierarchy if the current approver doesn't take an action in the specified no. of days.

Business has approvers who miss the notifications to take action, leading the transaction lying with them for long, delaying the supply chain.

We tried the escalate option within Deadlines tab of BPM. However, it only escalates to the Manager of the current approver, and not the next assignee in the approval hierarchy. The business expects that the current hierarchy must be followed.
