Asset Library still shows assets created in removed Career Site

Summary:

We created a career site with dummy images and removed/deleted that career site to eliminate all old records. But when a new career site is getting created it is still picking all the assets loaded in removed or earlier career sites.

We removed all the dummy career sites to get a fresh Asset Library window. Is this the expected behavior or assets ideally should be deleted when career site itself has been deleted where we posted the assets.
