how to create journal approval rule to check accounting date of the journal not in accounting Period

Summary:

Currently, users are able to post manual journals to prior open periods (for example, posting an adjustment to January when the calendar is already in February) without any system warning or managerial oversight. This creates a risk of unintended restatement of previously reported financials without the Controller’s awareness.

To mitigate this risk, the business is requesting that any manual journal posted to a prior period must go through an additional approval step.

The requirement is to configure a GL Approval Rule that identifies when the Accounting Date of a journal falls in a prior period rather than the current open period, and then routes it for additional approval.

Howdy, Stranger!
