Item Rule not working to validate sales account during item creation in redwood UI

We are facing an issue in Redwood UI for PDH item creation. We have a requirement to make Sales Account mandatory at the item master level, and this is currently handled using item rules.

In Classic UI, the Sales Account field is blank by default, so the rule works as expected. However, in Redwood UI, the field is defaulting with partial segment values like: ------0000-00000

Because this is not treated as null, the item rule does not trigger, and users can create items without entering a valid Sales Account.

Has anyone faced this behavior in Redwood UI? Is there a recommended way to validate that the Sales Account is fully populated with a valid account combination?
