Updating Element Periodicity Default value

in Payroll and Global Payroll Interface (GPI)

Summary:
We have an existing element for which we wanted to update Periodicity from periodically to Hourly. I was able to update the Default value on Periodicity Input value but when I enter new element entry it is still considering Annually periodicity. I tried updating Periodicity input value with new effective date but still new element entries are defaulting to Annually. Did anyone face this issue.
