HCM Contact REST API Does Not Trigger Standard Approval Workflow

Hello All,
We have observed that when creating an HCM Contact using the REST API, the standard approval workflow is not triggered. However, when the same contact is created through the Fusion UI, the approval workflow is initiated as expected.
Could you please advise whether this is the expected behavior? If so, could you suggest a recommended approach or workaround to ensure that approvals are triggered when creating contacts via the REST API?
