Payroll Flow - Recalculate Payroll for Retroactive Changes, taking long to complete

When running the payroll flow - Recalculate Payroll for Retroactive Changes, we have run into an issue where it is taking 4+ hours to complete the past two time it has been ran. This flow usually takes around 45 minutes to complete and has recently taken significantly longer; it will then get to a handful of employees and the exact task it is on will show as paused and take a couple more hours to complete. Have any other clients run into this issue? Should threading be changed?
