Adjusting Shipped sales orders from total demand

Summary:

The scenario is from an un-constrained supply plan with forecast consumption in daily buckets . we are using telescoping buckets (180 daily and 18 periods)

when gross forecast is monthly/weekly, why should the shipped sales orders not be adjusted against the total demand. It ends up over recommending in form of planned recommendations.

Gross Forecast for current month = 100,000 units

Today's date = 15th

Total open sales orders as of today = 10,000

Total shipped sales orders this month (1st to 14th) = 20,000

Net Forecast as of today (without any forward or backward consumption days set)= 90,000 (I Agree)

Total Demand = 100,000 (Do not agree. It should be 100,000 - shipped sales orders)

Howdy, Stranger!
