How to implement data access security in Data Extraction Tool(RODS) in Oracle Fusion Applications

Summary:

We have created an extract definition on ERP objects using the Data Extraction Tool (RODS) and would like to understand how to enforce ERP data access security on the extract.

Our requirement is for the extract to automatically honor the data access privileges of the user who runs it.

For example:

  • User A has access only to Business Unit BU1. When User A runs the extract, the output should contain only data for BU1.
  • User B has access only to Business Unit BU2. When User B runs the same extract, the output should contain only data for BU2.

Is there a way to configure the extract definition so that it automatically inherits the user's data access security (for example, Business Unit or Data Access Set security), without implementing custom filters?

Howdy, Stranger!
