Would like to be able to use a REST API call to disable matching for a configured item.

Due to a long standing OM bug in configured item revision processing we have hundreds of "duplicate" configured items, i.e. unique configured * items with duplicate configurations. We have created a script using REST API's to clean up these duplicates and everything is working fine except, I cannot find any mechanism to disable matching on configured items. Would like to see a REST API call I can use to disable matching on the duplicate configured items.
