Intercompany approvals based on Assignment type(Contigent or Employee)

Hello,

We have requirement to have IC approvals based on assignment type of a person. If it is contigent then it should go to some users and if it is employee then it should go to different set of users.

Is it possible to do? if yes then how we can achieve this.
