Question on Atom feeds

I am testing 26B Benefits featues for my customer. I wanted to know about Atom feeds. i see that the below note

I have a scenario that the Benefits Administrator should be notified on demand to review an employee's elections during the Open Enrollment. How does the Atom feed works? since i see the SAML url only in the documentation. once i enable benefit elections how does the Atom feed will notify or help the benefits administrator with the details? at times we run queries or use diagnostic reports to share the details. I am interested how to leverage the ATOM feed.
