Clarification on Existing Visitors After Enabling Eloqua Strict Tracking Mode

Hello Oracle Community,

We are currently considering enabling Eloqua Strict Tracking Mode and would like to clarify how it works.

If Strict Tracking Mode is enabled at a certain point in time and tracking opt-in becomes mandatory for all users, how will visitors or contacts who had previously visited an Eloqua landing page or a website containing the Eloqua tracking script—and were already being tracked by default—be treated after Strict Tracking Mode is enabled?

Will they continue to be treated as opted in when they visit again, or will only visitors or contacts who explicitly opt in after Strict Tracking Mode is enabled be eligible for tracking?
