How we can override Project Segment in Purchase requestion

we are using Classic UI

Currently, the Purchase Requisition (PR) account is derived from the Mapping Set. While I am able to override the Natural Account segment, I also need to override the Project segment.

I have already configured a Mapping Set for the Project segment. However, when I manually change the Project segment value and click Save, the system automatically reverts it back to the value derived from the Mapping Set. As a result, my manual changes are not retained.

Could you please advise how this requirement can be achieved? Is there a configuration or setup that allows the Project segment to be overridden without the system resetting it to the Mapping Set value?
