Best practice for changing payrolls with different beginning and end dates

Summary:

I'm looking for guidance on how to choose the effective date when moving a bulk of employees from one payroll to another when the dates don't align. For example, one of the cycles for the payroll they're currently on is 07.24.26-08.06.26 (2 weeks), and one we're moving them to is 07.27.26-08.02.26 (1 week). What are the best practices for this so there's no issue in paying them? We are using ADP, not Oracle payroll. Also, we are using Time & Labor and want to ensure all time cards can be completed and approved and no one loses access before that
