Cannot change Ampere A1 compute resource allocation.

Hello Oracle Cloud Support Team,

I received an Oracle OCI Always Free update notification stating that, beginning August 18, 2026, the Always Free compute limits will be reduced to:

  • Up to 2 Ampere A1 OCPUs
  • Up to 12 GB of memory

I currently have an Always Free Ampere A1 instance in the South Korea North (Chuncheon) region with the following configuration:

  • Shape: VM.Standard.A1.Flex
  • OCPUs: 3
  • Memory: 18 GB
  • Region: South Korea North (Chuncheon)

The OCI Console currently shows that this configuration does not support resizing, so I cannot directly change the instance from 3 OCPUs / 18 GB to 2 OCPUs / 12 GB.

I also tried to create a new Ampere A1 instance in the same region, but VM.Standard.A1.Flex / Ampere A1 is not available as an option in the Create Instance page.

Howdy, Stranger!
