Auto-assign resource instance to work orders that is generated by the maintenance program

Summary:

I'm trying to auto assign resource instances linked to resource for Work orders created in maintenance management due to very high volume of maintenance work order

Resource instance is/are already linked to the resources

Production scheduling is not used for Maintenance Management.

Also used “Schedule and Assign Resources to Maintenance Work Orders” process but it has dependency on Production Scheduling

Are there any supported methods or configurations that allow automatic resource‑instance assignment without Production Scheduling? If it can be used only with production scheduling what are the minimal configuration steps involved.
