what is the syntax for a variance calculation using column referencing currentPOV

I have a column A using CurrentPOV for the Years dimension. I cannot locate the correct syntax to reference in a Variance calculation.

I know the Variance function will not reference the POV so this AI-result does not work:

I then tried just to reference column A but does not work either:

The intention is to compare FY26 to year-end FY25 if POV is FY26 (current-year Actuals) and compare FY27 to FY26 if POV is FY27 (next-year Actuals)
