How to dynamically derive/default the HCM value into the Header EFF when the sales order is created

Summary:

We have a business requirement in Oracle Fusion Order Management where an Order Header EFF/DFF needs to be populated with the Department value derived from the HCM/HR structure based on the employee/user involved in the transaction.

 

Oracle Support confirmed that there is no direct table-level synchronization between the HCM source and DOO_HEADERS_ALL Header EFFs and has suggested using an OM Extension/Groovy script or REST integration.

 

However, before proceeding with customization, we would like to explore options

 

Is there any standard Oracle Fusion configuration, defaulting rule or Order Management defaulting framework that can derive a value from HCM and populate an Order Header EFF without Groovy/custom code?
