Manager Requesting Training Questions

Summary:

A couple of questions on how to best set up learning items in the new Unified Catalog.

  1. When we have a course set to Learner Approval Required, the course shows with a Request button (which is great!). However, if we want managers to be the one to request the course, they don't see request, just assign. They then see that their assignment was created. However, if they go back to look look at their team's transcript, they will see it was only requested. Is there a way for it to show right away as requested right away?
  2. There is a difference in how Requested works with Courses and Online Courses. We like the functionality of Requested, but it only works with new Online Courses. We cannot use it with legacy courses (it just assigns and bypasses requested state)…which is most of what we have. Will they both work the same in the future?
