Summary:

We have a lot-controlled item configured for full lifecycle tracking. During the lifecycle of the item, multiple assets numbers are being created in the Maintenance Asset model for different transactions such as miscellaneous receipt, sales order pick confirmation, and shipment.

We would like to understand whether it is possible to retain the same asset number throughout the complete lifecycle of a lot-controlled item, or whether creating a new asset number at each stage is the intended standard behavior.
