Location name change new location code is also being reflected against the historical records

While updating the existing location name and location code with an effective date of 01-Sep-2026, we observed that the new location code is also being reflected against the historical records associated with the old location code.

Additionally, when viewing data for backdated periods, the old location code is not displayed, although the old location name continues to appear correctly.

Could you please confirm whether this is the expected behavior when a location change is processed? Specifically, does updating a location impact the visibility or retention of previous location codes in historical records?
