Return Orders behavior between Classic UI and Redwood UI

Summary:

Since we have noticed the behavior change between Classic UI and Redwood UI for return order creation. We see that Return orders will now be created within the standard orders now as return order lines. In the current classic instance, we have extensions to update attribute on return orders and order type also based on line attribute. This is causing issue as whole order will change status as 'Return' with existing extension.

I have following questions or clarifications:

1. We can't just disable the same as current business is reliable on this functionality, so I am checking if there is any way we can modify the same with some logic to work in Classic UI orders only (or on the orders which has only returns lines).
