RestAction error when accessing an employee's documents of record via my client groups

Summary:

I am working on creating a custom HR role but we only really users that are assigned the role to access documents of record (so via my client groups) but I keep running into an "Error response during RestAction" error when clicking on an employee, however, I am able to add docs of record. What could be causing the RestAction error?
