Fulfillment line shows previous status after moving to next status, then updates

Summary:

We have an orchestration process with these statuses in sequence: DWSchedule, DWShip, DWAwaitInvoice, DWInvProcessing, DWInvoiced. The process works end to end, but when a fulfillment line moves to the next status, the line first shows the previous status for a short period, and then updates to the correct status.

Examples:

  • Line moves to DWAwaitInvoice: shows DWShip first, then updates to DWAwaitInvoice.
  • Line moves to DWInvProcessing: shows DWAwaitInvoice first, then updates to DWInvProcessing.
  • Line moves to DWInvoiced: shows DWInvProcessing first, then updates to DWInvoiced.

Business impact:
We generate events from the fulfillment line status and send them to our middleware (MW). Because the status is stale at the time of the event, we send incorrect status updates to MW.
