Can we reuse the balancing segment which was already been assigned to an existing ledger?

The business would like to switch the entity from one ledger to another which has the same chart of accounts and calendar setup.

Requirement: The initiative is to migrate the entity and balance from a ledger with USD functional currency to another ledger with JPY functional currency. The business requirement is to keep the same balancing segment in both ledger without the need to disable the existing balancing segment assigned to the entity and create a new one as the balancing segment has certain upstream and downstream dependencies.
