Inventory and Accounting Impacts of Outsourced Maintenance Work Order POs

Summary:

Hi All,

I have a question about creating an outsourced maintenance work order (Operation type= Supplier).
The purchase order (PO) generated automatically shows "Destination Type: Work Order", but I have not found Oracle documentation explaining how this scenario is handled. Could you please clarify the following points?

  1. Does the automatically generated PO create an on-hand inventory balance if the item type is Services?
  2. Would it create an on-hand inventory balance if the item type were different from Services?
  3. Does the process generate accounting entries? If so, where can I find them? I checked the Maintenance Work Order Cost task in the Maintenance Management module but did not find any entries there.

Howdy, Stranger!
