In Redwood 'Visas and permits' what is the criteria for identifying a duplicate entry?

edited Oct 13, 2026 10:01PM in Human Capital Management

Summary:

When trying to create a new entry of the same visa type, we are presented with an error message saying "A record with this combination of values already exists". Whilst it says that is a combination of values, it appears to me that it is only looking at the Type irrespective of whether it is active or not (even if the visa number is different).

I therefore have two questions:

  1. What is the combination of values it is looking for?
  2. Is this configurable?

We do have use cases where we'd expect a user to enter than one entry of the same visa type, particularly for visa extensions that are technically new visas that result in a different visa number.
