Oracle WMS Cloud Enhancement: Support Allocation of Larger Cartons During Cube-Based Cartonization
Business Requirement / Problem Statement
Currently, Oracle Warehouse Management Cloud (WMS) selects the smallest container that satisfies the item dimensions and volume requirements during cube-based cartonization as part of the waving process.
However, in certain business scenarios, the requirement is to allocate a larger container even when a smaller container meets the minimum dimensional and volume criteria.
The current standard functionality does not provide an option to configure or control carton selection to prioritize a larger container over the smallest eligible container during cube-based cartonization and waving.
This limitation restricts operational flexibility and prevents businesses from applying carton selection strategies based on specific warehouse operational requirements.
