Error Submiting a Subprocess from the Main Process

I have a workflow process where in I am launching few sub processes programatically through a function.
The SubProcess gets launched sucessfully but it errors out at the first activity after 'START' and i get the following error message. Any help would be great.

Failed Activity  Check if Notification Type is FYI
 
Activity Type  Function
 
Error Name  -6502
 
Error Message  ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error
