Archiving CI_FT and CI_FT_GL tables in RMS 8.x

We're currently running RMS 8.95 with PT8.46 and SQL2000.  Our PS_CI_FT and PS_CI_FT_GL tables have grown very large and we are looking to archive data in both tables.  I wanted to see if anyone else has gone down this road.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.
