Connecting to Directory Services as someone other than cn=orcladmin - OID 11g

 Is there a way to do this? I "copied" the orcladmin user and created my own. When I try to log in as myself, I get: "Connected directory is not Oracle Internet Directory. Hence this connection is closed.". I've read some postings stating you can only log in as "cn=orcladmin". I'm not sure if this is true or not. Could someone please let me know.
