PeopleTools 8.51: Logging on to PIA Results in "bea.jolt.ApplicationException: TPESVCFAIL - applicat
On PeopleTools 8.51.00-8.51.07, when logging into PIA, it throws error:
"bea.jolt.ApplicationException: TPESVCFAIL - application service failure" on logon screen.
Further investigation shows that the database connection has been lost.
This behavior can also appear as:
1. Shared cache errors (not relating to using shared cache) and write cache errors.
2. Verity issues because it disconnects and tries to reconnect.
3. Tuxedo errors in the PIA log file. TSESVCFAIL
To overcome this problem, Development recommends applying patch 8.51.08 at a minimum to the affected environment. If planning to upgrade to PeopleTools 8.51, the minimum release should be 8.51.08.
